I’ve never thought mine was a notification, but...I’ve got it set to the bird sound rather than bell. Perhaps try that?

I happen to like the chime. It's sort of my stand reminder now when I'm sitting too long in front of the laptop reading MacRumors.

I am in the exact same boat. I had to turn it off. If I could make it just do the bird chirp without the haptic notification on my wrist I would turn it back on.

Because that would drive someone bonkers. No one is obligated to keep the chime on.

Yeah, maybe the option for only sound would help. I also like the chime in general, and used it in watches past. I’m also considering shutting it off altogether, as it’s been for years since the Apple Watch 0.

I know what you mean. After 3 years I still get surprised at the notification after I use Apple Pay. I think ”Ooh! Who could that be? Oh, it’s just my receipt”.

I’m an old guy who gets maybe 2 or 3 messages a month.

I had trouble finding it also. From the watch itself go to settings, accessibility, chimes.

I have mine completely silent, the only feedback I get is haptic.

Technically it is a notification. It’s notifying you that a new hour has begun. Just not a visual notification.
