Would you buy an iPhone 6?

Haha. Hyperbolically much? Good grief.

Actually I know someone (biggest Apple fan ever as well) who got a 6 Plus in Feb.

He's had to get it replaced 2 times because of "Bendgate" (I didn't know this until recently, he hid his shame well!). So this is his 3rd unit since February. That's crazy.

Anyone who says it isn't an issue is delusional, Apple are changing the entire metal construction in the 6S to compensate.

If I were to buy, I would try to buy the latest tech so for me personally I would have answered no. However, that being said, there is nothing wrong with buying a used iPhone 6 for yourself to save some cash. Don't go with the 16 GB model though, you would be wasting your money. The iPhone 6 will be a viable device for a long time to come. As proof Apple is still upgrading the 4S and the 5 so you would at least a a few years out of it.

"Don't buy X though, you would be wasting your money."

The dogmatism on this forum is astounding.

Again, the 16GB is fine for so many people. It was fine for me until just recently. It's still fine for my wife, my father, my mother, and several co-workers.

6+ =/= 6

I didn't say every iPhone is perfect. I said he/she was implementing hyperbole by suggesting an entire model of a phone is garbage b/c some people had issues. The phone sold better than any other phone in history and is still a great phone.

Of course Apple is changing the design to make it better. They do that every 12 months or so last time I checked.

That's nonsense.

Sometimes Apple - like any other company - make a colossal mistake.

I bought the "AntennaGate" phone first day. It was an absolute nightmare, genuinely. They clearly screwed up.

And constructing pretty much the most expensive phone on the market so that it can easily bend in your pocket is clearly idiotic.

To try and downplay it is delusional.

I 100% agree.

That sucks, sorry to hear about it.

Again, you're not being clear about which phone you're referring to. Yes, some had problems, and it was pretty clear that Apple replaced phones and took care of those who did. However,"bendgate" was/is not nearly as ubiquitous as the extremely vocal minority on Apple Koolaid fan forums would have you believe.

To try and downplay it is delusional.
I think the allure of evangelical dogmatism is that it makes one feel better about him/herself. For further reading, check out my forum signature.

Have a great one.

Wow, Really? Without any sense of irony whatsoever you are going to accuse me of arrogance for making a recommendation which was requested by the original poster, who I believe wanted different points of view. It is still my opinion that if you have limited data, and take photos. use apps, use music, 16GB doesn't cut the mustard and is easily outgrown, I myself use over 20 GB used on mine and my usage is by no means atypical. More astounding that the supposed "dogmatism" is the belief of some that their opinion and point of view is the only valid one.

You're right, my post was probably a bit carried away, as I hadn't had my morning coffee yet, so my apologies. The OP was asking for opinions.

It just struck me as presumptuous to make a blanket statement that 16 GB is a waste of money, when the OP had stated he/she was strapped for cash and we don't know his/her usage. 16 GB does in fact "cut the mustard" for many.

For folks, like my mother, 16 GB is likely all that would be needed, though as she uses her iPhone it is filling with pictures as she has discovered that the iPhone makes a wonderful camera and even for her 32 GB or better would be better suited for her. No apology needed we all have bad days :)

Bullcrap. I've had the 6 Plus naked since day one and the one thing it doesn't do is bend. That bendgate thing was totally blown out of proportion. 1GB of RAM, yeah that's somewhat of a limitation but iOS 9 handles it much better.

Personally I'd wait and save up the extra cash for a 6S. Buying already outdated tech is usually a bad investment/choice.

Great true points!! The 6 is not outdated tho. Some people still use their 4s. What brought me to Apple was there support of their phone devices.

My wife's HTC m7 will soon be outdated because it will no longer get support after this two year mark. Sad......So buying the 6 now wouldn't be bad at all. I mean, the 6s is giving you what, force touch? Nothing to "upgrade" to.

Now if the 7 has more screen and less bezel, basically giving you a different look, then that's a good time to upgrade, but the 6 will still be good even then.

The 6S is giving you better longevity.

The iPhone 6 is a great device and I still love mine. In fact, I'm so satisfied that I'm not tempted by the 6S. However, if I was buying a new phone, I would buy the 6S without hesitation. It's the better phone.

While I personally wouldn't buy an iPhone 6 at this point, it is still a compelling device if you can get it at a reasonable price.

The absolute no-no is buying on a 24 month plan or anything like that.
