Same here. 100% after 8 hours of standby with three email accounts, push email on two and synced Exchange account. Love the i4 battery!! :D

My phone = Canadian iPhone 4, factory unlocked with no contract at the moment.

I put my iPhone in airplane mode when I goto bed but leave wifi on. Don't have push email and turn off fetch (just do manual at the moment). I also turn off all programs (double click home and toggle off all programs).

Going from a full charge last night, I still have 100% battery after 14 minutes of use and 8 hours and 49 minutes of standby.

I'd say easily I could get 10+hours of standby with 100% battery

Why do you people leave your phone on? When I sleep I want to sleep, not be woken up by someone. I just put mine on airplane mode and use it as an alarm.

I have 3g, wifi and Rain Sleepmaker app with a 1-hour timer which I fall asleep with and turn back on if I wake up.
No push/fetch for email and I close all apps from the multitasking bar at night (but for the Sleepmaker of course).
No battery loss for me.

I've always heard that it stops charging when it's full. If that's the case then there's no reason to not charge overnight.

I can't find proof of that online right now, but I also can't find proof of what you were told. The biggest thing in my favor is that this page doesn't say anything about not charging it over night. If those people were right I'd have to assume it'd be mentioned on Apple's own site.

Since they don't mention it then I have to think that those employees didn't know what they were talking about.

interesting you say that, my phone the last few days when i pull it from the pc is at 94-98% almost like it stopped charging.

odd.

Charging battery

Hi

Understand I need to do a full cycle charge and drain once a month.

This has probably been answered in earlier threads but do I need to charge my iphone to full everytime I charge it? Or can I just top it up as a when?

Thanks

David

Mine lost 25% last night. Push off, Bluetooth off, on Wifi, email on manual fetch. My old 3G and 3GS would loose 3-5%. My iPhone 4 loses between 8-30%. I don't have any apps that play music or complete tasks in the background. I have no explanation. I turned it on this morning saw it had only 5% left. I tried to powercycle and instead of restarting it gave me the plug it in image. I have never seen an iPhone go from 5% to nothing from rebooting. The only thing I can think of is that I downloaded Sonic 2 last night a played it for a bit. Perhaps it does something in the background.

I reset my entire phone last night and set it up as new ... bye app data. The battery last night didn't budge. After 10hrs of standbye, still at 100%. Now I have to find out if the reset was what fixed it, or if there is some leaky app.

I fell asleep with Pandora on via wifi and only lost about 8-10% overnight, not too shabby imo. And it wasn't even plugged in.

But anyhow i've never understood why people don't charge their phones overnight? I'm not sure what I might have to do at work the next day and don't wanna risk it with 35-40% battery life in case i'm out of the office away from an outlet.

jailbroken with fetch every 30 min infolock and Bitesms and wifi on with moving background* and I lose about 2% - 4% over a 8hr sleep pattern.

*Moving background of course is not moving if the screen is off.

My 32GB i4 was dropping by about 20% overnight with Notifications, Bluetooth, and WiFi off. My girlfriend's 32GB i4 drops by like 2-3% with Notifications, Bluetooth and WiFi on.

I brought it to the apple store today and got a brand new replacement. It's only been a couple of hours since I got it, but with 10 minutes of usage and 2 hours of idle time, it's still showing 100%, so looks like it's at least an improvement.

Mine's jailbroken with tons of crap, wifi on, etc and only 1-2% actually sometimes 0% battery loss. Happy camper here :)

I close everything out and I lose about 1 - 2%. I thought that was great.

Only charge the phone every other night.

This has been my experience as well. Occasionally, I turn mine of completely at night.

i lost almost 20% last night. After reading this useful topic i can see why. lol

i have no signal at all in my bedroom, 3g on, wifi on, location services on. push email every 30 minutes. and my favorite sleeping app White noise on, with timer set at 1 hour. i should fix it easily now that i know!
