This from the Apple site 2018 mini;

on Intel Core i5 (Turbo Boost up to 4.1GHz)
I thought the i5 didn't have turbo Boost?

Thanks 89. Does any of this matter if I mostly surf and play 2 old games that do not overload anything as far as I can tell. Thanks again 😀

If you're managing that on your current setup (2012 i7 Mini), then the base model (i3/8GB/128GB - $799) 2018 Mini will be able to do the same. However, for a little future proofing... and an upgrade over what you have now... consider the next tier configuration (i5/8GB/256GB) for $300 more ($1099 total).

My thoughts as well 89. Bumping the i3 to 256 SSD = $1K the stock i5 is $1100....so for $100... more better processor?

The additional $200 for an extra 128GB SSD is pretty poor value. If you want/need 256, then the base i5 is a much better deal.
Faster processor, with turbo and an extra two cores.
