That's why it rip's Wintels "a new one" in processor intensive apps like Photoshop.
I know you posted that Wintels beat PowerMacs in Maya & Dreamweaver. I would like to see those benchmarks myself if you would post them. Just to make sure the configurations are kosher. But I wouldn't doubt that Maya & Dreamweaver haven't been coded for multi-processing yet though.
Meanwhile, why don't we compare video editing & rendering process' using the industry standard Final Cut Pro?Macs should be an all in one platform so they can sell to anybody that wants a fast computer(gamers included) all of this is exactly why apple needs to dump motorola and there stagnating ways. If i go out and buy a mac i want to do everything on it not just work! please itunes,iphoto,imovie and GAMES! So to say are machine is no good at that is to say we dont want more sales. I dont think apple is thinking this. I think they want to grow as much as they can but motorola has basically held them back. Didnt steve say they are looking at all avenues when it came to the cpu's? I really believe the 970 will solve a lot of issues for apple. In the mean time they still have to sell computers untill that chip becomes available. I think that is why all the duallies stuff! But now look a single cpu base powermac. maybe a hint of whats to come?I think that a single 970 will have over twice the power of a single g4. Lets hope we see these chips this summer.If so everyone will be happy but another darn motorola bump will not increase sales in my opionion.
