Does anyone know how long the battery life is on an ibook (2.3, g3)? I am running it the mode for optimizing its lifetime and also have it plugged in most of the time anyways. Yet, twice in the past week, with no warning the battery icon just shows a red x through it and then the ibook shuts down. I just recharge and it seems fine again, but it seems to be a running warmer than usual or something. I am just worried? Is it normal to have to order a new battery after two years? Is that even the problem here?
Thanks, Any help would be appreciated.

Well just a note most laptop batteries are designed to last for 500 charges and discharges.
