This Logitech cordless mouse is the one I was talking about - $39 on their web site, but if you check around at Costco or other big buy places, you'll probably find it lots cheaper.

It isn't bluetooth, but it is cordless. There are lots of different kinds of cordless mice (mouses?) Some of them are meant for desktops and do have a big receiver thingy that gets in the road.

This one that I'm recommending only has a little tiny thing that plugs into the USB port on the side of the computer.

But as others have said the trackpad on her iBook is likely all she'll use anyway unless she gets into image editing or drawing and then she might want a Wacom tablet, but that can be a gift for later on.

I have a bunch of mice that I use for different things. Another one that I really like is this Fellowes Mini-Track Mouse that you hold in your hand. It's really handy if you're vegging out on the couch and want to surf and scroll long documents at the same time and have no place to set a mouse down.

Your Daughter is a lucky girl!

Take care, Margaret

What about a guide? She has never had a Mac before and I was wondering if there was a guide for Tiger and the ibook. Any suggestions?

Most of the Tiger books aren't yet published so I'd hang off and get them later. The David Pogue Missing Manual ones are full of details and tips but might be a little weighty if you plan on reading through the whole thing!
