Read the post. He tripped over the wire. That is most certainly not a legit warranty claim.

Responsible people don't leave wires where they can be tripped over. You cover it with enough carpetting, or a rubber pad that goes over the wire that won't allow the wire to be tripped over.
Or put hooks on the ceiling and wire it over your head. If you have to walk over a cable, you are asking for an accident.

The same thing happened to me too, but it was actually my friend who tripped over the Ethernet cable. Luckily, I was able to find one of the plastic tabs and I superglued it back and everything's fine now! elensil, you might try finding something that's of comparable size and shape and superglue that to the port - maybe buy an Ethernet jack and try to break off the tabs? It probably might not be an exact match, but at least you'll have something.

Price are so high because thats where apple wants them. One guy getting a break is 1 :4 to real mobo's i've needed. Whos causing more trouble manufacturing defects or an easy mistake.

Apple took responsibility for their mistake, four times in your case. The OP should take responsibility for his actions.

You don't think the HP, Dell, Gateway, etc. don’t charge a lot for their replacement parts? Even their notebooks that are 4 years old, they still are around $1,000 for the system board.
