ibook cd drive broken?

I have a ibook that accepts a cd spins it for a while then ejects it. Does it to all of them and never, ever reads any. Is there a way to reset this part of the ibook only? Or is it toast. Thanks in advance.

Cheap iBook drives can be found on ebay. You may want to use this opportunity to upgrade your drive.

You can reset the PMU which contains some optical drive firmware settings. Dunno if it'll work, but it's worth a try. 🙂
