Okay so here the deal. My brother is in the airforce(US) in japan right now. He ordered an ibook through apple education (he's in the airforce comunity college or something) and gets it shiped state side so we can ship it to him. (apple won't ship and US priced ibook to japan, even though he's on a US base).

The problem is when he ordered it on the phone he told the lady he wanted the combo drive book, not the cd-rom only. I get the ibook, load up some pictures and stuff for him, and notice that it can no burn cds. I go uh-o. He sends me the recipt and it indeed says ibook cd-rom only. (so he only paid for the cdrom one). so apples not going to take it back(it was BTO). and now he really want a combo drive, (or a superdrive). its going to cost him a couple of buck(hopefuly not to many) and i know it will void the apple care.

so here is my question to the mac rumors group.

what superdrive does the 14" use?
are there any apple service manuals on the internet for the 12"

i found the combo drive used in ibooks $150 and DIY. I'm not to scared of DIY but i would like a guide.

I remember seeing someone post about a ibook G4 12" superdrive upgrade, i just can't find it.

thanks for you help
