ibook external hard drive wont mount

hey guys very inexperienced in macs and how to use them i just got a two year old mac wit a stock 30gb hardrive, i took that out and put in a case, well apple took it out and put it in a case, now i tried attaching the external to my new 80gb in my ibook but its not mounting. I have an ibook g4 mac osx tiger, and the new hardrive is samsung i believe. thanks any help would be great.

you may need to update the firmware on the hard drive, search WD's site for more answers.
