I have an 12" iBook 1Ghz that when I run an external monitor I get no green on the external display. Could I have the wrong dongle or is this a problem with the board? Anyone seen this before? Thanks.

tagging along to this thread...

I have an ibook g3 500 that I bought in 2001. It's been nothing but a reliable machine for all this time, and useful as anything. I've upgraded the RAM and the HD and that's about it. The problem is, I'm having some problems with my eyes, and the lcd screen is not what it used to be.

I'm waiting with baited breath for leopard and revisions to the imac line so I can buy something that will hopefully last me another 5 years (maybe). I really want an Imac 24 all loaded up but like I said I want to wait.

I have the little video out connecter that came with the computer. I assume that this is for hooking up an extra monitor.

My question is: What are the limits to the size and quality of the monitor I can hook up to it? I'm thinking of buying a 22 inch high quality monitor in anticipation of my forthcoming imac and also so I can use it with my ibook now. Hopefully, this will hold me for a couple of months...

Forgive my ignorance, I don't know much about monitor resolutions and graphics capabilities and all that. I just want it to work (which is why I like mac.) Feel free to send me some links to help educate myself if you like. I couldn't find very much about my machine specifically. Thanks in advance.
