Ibook G4 crashing.

When I start up my Ibook, It starts up and shows the Apple logo but then the screen slowly fads out till its only a white screen. I took the battery out and started it up again but found the fan would start up but nothing else.

HELP!!!

What's wrong with my computer and what do i need to do to fix it!!!

Are you sure it's the fan and nothing else, or is there just nothing on the display? Do you get the startup sound? Can you hear the hard drive working? When you hit the caps lock key, does the light turn on?

You can hear something turn over when you press the power button but then only the fan starts up!

After you press the power button, the Super Drive makes a noise. This is perfectly normal.

It's not normal if that's the only sound you hear.
