I recently reinstalled iPhoto onto my ibook G4 (10.3.9, 800mhz, 384mbddrsdram) because I am about to sell it to make room for a newer Apple. Since the reinstallation, I've noticed that my ibook has become tempermental and keeps freezing from random things.
For instance, if I open Safari (1.3.2) and immediately go to open a second tabbed window - Safari will freeze. If I try to force quit it - the entire dock will freeze and the cursor turns into the swirly rainbow. I've left it there to see if it would sort itself out but it wouldn't and it refused to restart/shutdown/reboot so I've been resorting to taking the battery out in order to turn it off and restart.
Obviously taking the battery out isn't the best thing to do. After it restarts - the mac's clock is reset to 1970
.
Anyway, I'm just wondering - is something dying inside my mac? I've had it for 5 or so years and it has never caused me any grief.
