Hi guys- I'm new.... and a girl- o be nice.

My ibook G4 is very slow when surfing.. I have spoken to my provider (sky) who tested the line and connection. I am getting 6meg.. they then told me to

network utilities->netsat->display state of all current socket connections

apparently there shouldnt more than 10.. but theres loads..

what can I do to sort this out..
:apple:
thanks

I just ran the same test and have far more than 10. My connection is 10 mbit down and 1 up. Always seems fast to me.

Maybe explain what you're doing when it's slow.

knowing sky broadband, it's prolly them, not your computer

http://www.skyuser.co.uk/forum/ << look here for answers and tips on how to sort it out ;)

did that, was on the line for nearly an hour wife a very helpful young lady. We moved the router to each of the 3 lines in my flat (incl main line). At each line I was receiving my subscribed 5meg...we then looked at applications>utilities>network utilities>netstat>display the state of all current socket connections> then this-

apparently this amount of connections is far too many. I have tried to repair permissions using disk utility. It is asking for an administrator password. I have checked in system preferences> my account my own user name & password and this is not working.

What is going on.. anyone?
