How do I make it so my iBook doesn't sleep when I close the lid. I'm trying to use it as a desktop computer with a usb keyboard and mouse, but I can't close the lid. also when I'm moving from room to room I don't want to have to close out my connection with the web when I'm downloading something. Anyone know how to make my iBook not sleep when closed?

I think Screen Span Doctor will let you do this but I strongly recommend you don't. Unlike PowerBooks (which have this feature inbuilt), iBook dissipate a lot of their heat through the keyboard and hacks to make the computer work with the lid closed can do a lot of permanent damage, especially if you're downloading large files (constant hard drive access).

You could use the infamous screen spanning hack. Just note that running an iBook with the lid closed is a bad idea™ as much heat is wented through the keyboard, but for short, short movements it might be okey, but now you are warned.

Edit: Time to go to bed...
