Is it possible to connect my iBook G4 to my Apple 20" Cinima display without buying a VGA to DVI converter?

If not why?

If so how?

hope someone can help. ;o)

No, because the iBook simply is not compatible with the ACD.

http://www.apple.com/displays/specs.html

MacBook Pro compatibility All MacBook Pro models
MacBook compatibility Requires Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter, M9321G/A N/A
iMac compatibility Intel-based iMac models (requires Apple Mini-DVI to DVI Adapter, M9321G/A) N/A
Mac mini compatibility All Mac mini models N/A
PowerBook compatibility PowerBook G4 with DVI port

If you could afford the display, I'm sure wouldn't mind spending a few extra hundreds on a Mac Mini or a MacBook.
