BTW: How well does OS X run on 128mb?

It doesnt run. It crawls. Congrats on getting your machine back. The ram very well could have been bad, I doubt they would go through the trouble of taking it out, packing it up, and sending a letter just so that you might buy new ram off of them. If you further plan on upgrading your machine, maybe you could spring for a 1gig stick. It'll boost performance nicely. I know you said your getting a new machine soon, but, it doesnt hurt having a solid machine to use as well.

I would LOVE to put a 1gig stick in here (as sometimes what we want can't always happen because of things we need...aka, there is always the possibility that I wont be able to get a new Mac for one reason or another). But aren't the G3's capped at 640?
