I'm stressed about getting a new/used keyboard for my G3 12" ibook. I want to buy used, cause it's just the spacebar that isn't working anymore. I am wondering about a couple of things:

1) Can I use the keyboard from the G3 500mhz ibook ? (mine is the 900mhx version)

2) Some G3s use a keyboard with a green connector ribbon and mine has a grey/clear one -is the green one compatible?

3) Can you fit a G3 14" keyboard into the 12" model.

I'm going nuts trying to figure this out, so any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Slappy, this site lists the part numbers for the different iBook keyboards. I don't know the answer to your question, though. There are lots of cheap iBook keyboards on eBay, and they're not so hard to replace, so I'd be sore tempted to find out before paying $130 or somesuch just to get one that's "definitely" the right part number... and those sales on eBay seem to indicate that at least, with 12" iBooks, all the keyboards are inter-compatible.... But I don't know for sure. :(
