I have an iBook G4 the 1.42 gHz generation. I am planning on upgrading the memory. It currently has 512 mb of memory and I am wondering how much of a difference it will make to add an additional 512 mb of memory vs. 1 gig. If it is going to make a huge difference to add a gig over 512?

all g4's flew with 1gb ram - the more the better

safari - will feel snapier
apps open quicker
you can have more apps open at once
less beachball ( sort of )

I would max it out if you can afford it. I did that with my G4 iBook, I think it was 1.25Ghz, but honestly forgot, however once I maxed it out on ran that computer FLEW, it was FAST!!! Defiantly max the ram out if you can, 1gb of ram is better than just 512mb.
