I agree the lead is bogus.

However, the subnotebook is a category too long ignored by Apple. Check out the stuff on Dynamism.com - the PC notebook/laptop world is running circles around Apple in terms of "big picture" form factor (size, weight, what is and is not on board, etc). There are PLENTY of laptops with 12" screens AND media drives built in that weigh around 3 pounds, closer to 2 pounds w/o media drives built in, and looooooooooooooooooooong battery life thanks to Intel pushing low power consumption chips.

Now, imagine something with those general specs but done by Apple. NOW you're talkin.

i think an ibook mini would be more like a modern and (more) up to date powerbook 2400c. anybody remeber those. i could see a market for a sub laptop

Pete - I think you're thinking of Swissboy, who posted "iBook mini is all I can leak... but this IS the One More Thing" (paraphrasing). That got me interested too, but it turns out "Swissboy" has only posted once before, with a bogus "I'm a security guard and I've seen the new iMac G5" story just before the actual release last year. He claimed it was just like the iMac G4 but with a colored case. Whoops.

So while a 10" widescreen colored anodized aluminum (my pet daydream, to match the iPod mini) subnote would be adorable and gadgetlicious, this particular lead seems bogus.

on the ball....wow thats the post i saw. once again i am losing sleep over a keynote....haha....i just wish to see a new apple product every week....camera, shoes, etc.....dreaming of course
