I agree the lead is bogus.
However, the subnotebook is a category too long ignored by Apple. Check out the stuff on Dynamism.com - the PC notebook/laptop world is running circles around Apple in terms of "big picture" form factor (size, weight, what is and is not on board, etc). There are PLENTY of laptops with 12" screens AND media drives built in that weigh around 3 pounds, closer to 2 pounds w/o media drives built in, and looooooooooooooooooooong battery life thanks to Intel pushing low power consumption chips.
Now, imagine something with those general specs but done by Apple. NOW you're talkin.
