All of the 14's are sold out at my local Apple Store (even the display model) but they still have 12's instock. I'm leaning towars a 14 over the 12 for the larger screen (yes, I know they are both the same res), I want the faster proc, and because I think I like the overall size of the 14 more. I hate feeling confined and the 14 feels more comfortable than the 12 while using them on my lap. I'm still not sure though. I prefer the smaller size when it comes to portability, but I prefer the larger one when actually in use... oh well...

i'm pricing notebooks for next year, since i'll be heading off to college. i was surprised to see that i could spec out a 14.1" iBook for a similar price as a 12.1" Powerbook, yet the iBook would have more RAM (640 v. 512) a larger screen (obviously), and imo a better gpu. (the harddrive, etc were all the same.) there was only around $20 difference, minimal in any case. honestly, i am seriously considering a 14.1" ibook for next year.

Re: iBook questions

a screen cloth between the screen and the keyboard(?)

I have to ask about this, since I'm trying to come up with a budget for the purchase of my i/power book and accessories... What's this cloth all about? I see them advertised for $10 to $20-plus. A rectangular vinyl or leather swatch? Is there something special about this, or can I make it from something lying around my house?

Yes, any regular cloth, trimmed to size, would do.
FYI, one of my classmates has a 15" powerbook and she has been using a regular A4 size sheet of paper to act as a buffer between the keyz and the screen. Works like a charm, :eek: she claims!
Let's just leave the "shoshaaz" for the rich to waste money on, righto!! {And spend the money instead, on practical items such as a good, sturdy laptop case to carry your *precious* around!}

Cheers!
