ibook swapping keyboard g4/g3

i heard this is possible, the g4 plastic keyboard can be swapped out for the cheapo g3 one. Im thinking of buying a g3 and was going to get a newer g4 keyboard off ebay and swap it out. can someone verify that it is possible
