Does any one have any idea when the iBook's video memort will get bumped up to at least 64MB. I was hoping it would be soon, but with the mini coming with 32MB I'm not so sure. 32MB of VRAM has been low end for a couple of years, and even 64MB is finding it's way in most low end cards. I have a G3 iMac with a 16MB video card, that can't take advantage of the hardware rendering of the visual effects of Panther, and when the OS tries to a lot effects at once, there is a lot of tearing and viusal glitches and freezes, and I don't want to buy a new iBook that will be in the same position within the next couple of OS releases.

I would like to get a 12" iBook, and a 12" PowerBook isn't an option since you're paying $600 more for only a 130MHz faster processor, 32MB more VRAM, and 30GB more HD space, so it's not really worth the huge jumpe in price. Maybe if the PowerBooks were to make spec'd significatly higher, they may be worth is, but according to the latest rumors, the 12" will probably only got to 1.5GHz, and even then the 12" ibook might get bumped to 1.33GHz.

I'm personally hoping that the PowerBooks go to 128MB VRAM standard, with 256 as a high end option and the iBooks will go to 64MB.
