i went to the apple store and now im gonna buy a pb because with my sis discount the ibook would cost 1000+75(airport xtreme card)+25 (upgrade hd) that would be 1100, and if i buy the pb its gonna cost 1400 and it comes with 333mhz more cpu speed, faster ram, 60gb hd, builtin bluetooth, and wifi, 5200 graphics 64mb

so i think its a good deal

what diff revisons should i look for, when i buy it at the apple store

im gonna
buy a pb 12in, the 1400 dollar 1, with the student discount
a 4g 20gb ipod with the cram and jam 270-200(rebate)
and get the HP DeskJet 5650 Inkjet Printer for 130-100(rebate)

total $1,797.00+tax- 200 rebate- 100 dollar rebate

i wish i could buy the final cut express 2 for $99 but i would owe my parents $ for a long time, when i get a job soon ill buy it, is there any free alterantives on the mac?

Uh...

Free alternatives to Final Cut express? Ever tried something called iMovie?

One more opinion: Powerbook is cooler and faster. iBook is much better for battery life and wifi reception.

I wanted a book with an internal DVD burner, so I got an iBook 14". Loaded up with all options it was still $600 cheaper (w/ edu discount) than a 15" PB w/ superdrive.

I am going to use the saved $600 to buy a really kick ass Midi controller.

The iBook has been great for: garageband, iMovie, Final Draft, iTunes, iDVD. *The one thing I don't need is heavy duty graphics, however.*

So I guess it depends on: 1) what do you want to do with your computer? And 2) what do you want to do with your $?

PowerBook!

I joined the ranks of 12" PowerBook users, and it does everything you could think of. The screen is great, the Wi-Fi reception is great, and I found that Bluetooth is the greatest thing since sliced bread (or at least, Apple Computer Inc.)

I would recommend the PowerBook. You will be amazed how long it lasts...and if you don't like it, there is always ebay. ;-)

Another nice thing about the PowerBooks: The faster-spinning HD. It eats up battery faster, (I still get 5:30 if I make everything go into ultra-save mode) but stuff goes faster too. Plus, it seems that PowerBooks are easier to upgrade in a few years, when you want that 100x SuperDrive.

So what does a 15 year old need with that much power?

Edit feature films...
Edit pieces for television news...
Edit wedding videos...
Edit client's projects...

Pretty much just edit video :D

(At least, that's what I needed my G5 for :D )

Guns or Butter

Well I agree with you, buy guns. The builtin bluetooth and wifi were the kicker for me too. Go home and play hard!! You will love how simple things will be, just start clicking and you will love the iphoto, imovie, itunes, idvd interopability. :) :) :)

USED PB vs. iBook

Hi, I am new in this forum, and really need your assistance or advise...
I do not have the money to buy a new apple laptop, so I am buying on eBay, I found some good deals and not sure which is better, I've found a 12" 600Mhz 256MB iBook w/ cdrw and a 15.2" 500mhz 512MB PowerBook with dvd for $120 more, one more thing the PB is G4 and the iBook is G3.

Which would you recomend?
And is it too much diff between the 12" and the 14" ibook?

Thanks,
CH

ahh idk what to buy, ive been counting down the days till i buy a apple computer of some sorts

so it will cost 300 more dollars to buy the pb
$300 is alot when you dont have a job, any 1 know a job i could work after school for a few hrs, that would be flexible with sports?

i wish apple put the pb inside the ibook case, people have led me to belive that the ibook is 10x more durable, apple needs to come out with the ihighschoolproflaptop and ihighschoolproofmp3player

bahhhhhhh im so confused, at random times when im with my friends, i will all a sudden talking about waht to get a ibook or pb.
