One moment it was working and now there's just a grey screen w/ an apple logo when I turn it on. Tried serveral times, same result. please help. 🙁

Duff-Man says.....have a look at this thread - specifically the part about booting into single user mode and running fsck. Alternatively, can you try starting from your install CD and running Disk Utility from there......oh yeah!
