iBooks - complete or abridged books?

Was comparing a hardcopy version of a book with the version purchased from iBooks and noticed a big difference in page count - 326pgs vs 256 pages between hard and digital. Is this difference due to different fonts or are the books on iBooks abridged?

AFAIK unless they say they are abridged they are complete. Font size does play a major factor.
