Just tried to download on my phone and got a popup saying it would be available the next time I connect to iTunes.

yeah it shows up app store but i can not download. I searched it in itunes and downloaded the ipad one cuz it now has the plus.

Im on mac

I just installed it over the air without using iTunes, so seems to be working now

I downloaded it on my computer and it doesn't show up to sync when I try to put it on my phone.

hmm i think you need the iOS 4 released today and not the GM to install ibooks?

how to get it!

heres what i did

I searched it in app store and opened it.

Next i opened the link to learn more about it, which it went to safari then i clicked on the visit app store link showing the ibooks for ipad.

then it redirected me to the right download link in app store

Is any one reaaly going to read a book on a little 3.5 inch screen? I couldn't imagine

The GM and today's release are exactly the same so that's not it.

That's not entirely true. At least on the iPhone3G the md5sums don't match up and the file size is actually a few KB smaller than the GM. Though I don't know what small things would have changed, especially since the build numbers match up.

BTW, I'm not able to get iBooks to install on my 3G. Says I can learn more about the iPad though.

Disregard. iBooks seems to be loading for me now.

This worked perfectly, thank you.

Absolutely. Not a whole book, but if I have some time to kill I'll knock out a chapter or two. That's the nice thing about wirelessly syncing bookmarks, you can read on whatever is convenient.

Try redownloading iTunes.

I had the developer's early release but that version didn't seem to work. I redownloaded iTunes and iBooks downloaded properly and show up as universal app instead of an iPad app.

No Winnie-the-Pooh?

I downloaded and installed iBooks for the iPhone after I had gotten through updating my 3GS and was surprised to see no Winnie-the-Pooh. I've got that on both iPads, and I thought it was automatically part of the iBooks app? I have two books that I have purchased so am a little hesitant to delete the app and reinstall it. Advice?
