There really isn't a bookmark feature (yet), is there? I didn't see one on the recently-posted video.

Probably the same as with audiobooks. Your current position is automatically remembered by iBooks App/iTunes.

to be honest im a little disappointed with the iBooks lack of functionality. I was really hoping to be able to bookmark pages as well as highlight and annotate. It seems like none of those features are there.

    Hopefully iBooks 2.0

Use the Kindle app and buy from Amazon.

    Huh?

If you watch the iPad tour video on iBooks, they clearly state "you can place bookmarks". They don't show it being done, but it's apparently there. Why do you think you can't? This is a pretty basic feature.

Man people are really spoiled with the Kindle. This is not a dedicated ereader people, get over it, geez, cut Apple some slack. I guarantee there will be updates with all those of features.

But haven't you been paying attention to the groupthink on here? The iPad is a Kindle Killer. In fact, the Kindle doesn't offer anything of better value than the iPad. And the Kindle is dead.

OK, thanks, gang. I watched the video in a hurry and didn't catch hearing them say that.

There is a "Bookmark" button that shows up in the normal copy/paste menu when you select some text.

You can see it 45 seconds into the iBooks tour.
