    Hi,

I am trying to unlock my Iphone 8gb refurb for use in the UK... I've followed all the instructions on www.hacktheiphone.com and everythin went smoothly upto this point... now I have launched Ibrickr, and when i click free my iphone... I am getting the same message over and over:

    Download the iPhone firmware
Looks like you need to download the iPhone firmware. Fire up iTunes with your iPhone plugged in, and hit the Restore button. Once the download starts, unplug your iPhone. When the download finishes, click away the error message in iTunes, and close iTunes. Plug your iPhone back in, and click Check again.

I have restored the firmware to 1.0.2 twice now - can anyone give me any advice please? or maybe a link for different software to unlock the phone, as this does not seem to be working for me.

    Thanks

Has anyone come across this problem before? I cant figure it out.
I've also tried PQ Computings One Click Unlock this afternoon at $40, which i cant get past the registration screen on! lol. Been trying to unlock for 5 hours now and still no further!!

No, still no luck with it.

I'm not sure what to do next, and I cant get my head round why its not working at the moment. I dont own a mac myself, so planning to use a friends mac later in the week to attempt the unlock with Independence - but with it not working on ibrickr, i cant imagine it would make to much difference.

I would recommend to everyone on here to not buy the license for PQ's One Click Unlock since it wont let me past the registration screen - I have sent multiple emails to there support team but no reply - which when I have my long awaited iphone waiting to be used, is very frustrating! lol.

Sorry to hear that. I'm rather surprised that no-one else has offered help. Perhaps you should start another thread appealing for help with a more general title that people might respond to. E.g. Please kelp me unlock my iPhone!

Yeah that sounds like a good idea. I've just changed my itunes version back to 7.4.0 from 7.4.2, but this hasnt made a difference so far, Ive read somewhere that it can be more successful if u have the older itunes... Thanks for your help anyway.
