There are events I would like to add to iCal that don't have a time frame, or who's time frame is unknown. If I'm meeting a friend for lunch at 4:30, and I don't know how long I'll be there, why do I have to say it's from 4:30 till whatever time. Is there a way to just have and event start time with no end time?

I just set things for 1/2 an hour

Why would you set the range. In a sense, the only important thing is when you're meeting the person. If something else is scheduled, you'll be able to assess priorities.
