Hello Mac users throughout the World.

First of all, congratulations to this community for all the help they provide to new and not so new mac users.
My name is Rui and i am from Portugal. As you may notice, i just joined and this is my first post.

Anyway, lets go straight to the topic.
I am a Dentist and it would be very useful to me if i could use iCal (or any similar app) to organize my schedule. I mean... I work in different clinics and i am also a College Teacher, so it would be great if i could have, for example, all monday mornings in yellow and be able to add events there.
Let me try to explain better. Monday mornings i work in X place, monday afternoons on Y place, tuesday i lecture all day... etc etc etc... So, if i could use different background colours for those different activities and then add appointments on top of the colour would be amazing.
Allow me to take the example a little further. On mondays i work on a clinic from 9:00 to 14:00. Those hours could be yellow on the calendar. Then, i would add Patient X appointment at 9:30. Patient Y appointment at 10:15... and so on... but all morning would have a background colour so that i know what time i have to be there, etc...

My questions are: Is it possible to do this with iCal? If yes, please tell me how... If not, is there any app that does it?

I am sorry to bother you guys with these questions. Sorry is i was too confusing.

Thx for your time and patience.

Yours,

Rui

Yes, you can do that. I have Events in five colors. I just temporarily added a new one, and got a sixth color. I don't know what the limit is.

In the File Menu, select New Calendar, then name it, of course. Once you have them all in place, you should first click the one you want to add an Event to. But, if you forget, you can change the Calendar in Edit mode of any Event, which goes for ones you've already created too.

It's no bother. That's why people come here; to help and be helped. I hope I nailed it. Didn't find it confusing at all, pending your response of course!

Let us know if that works for you.
