iCal invitations

My wife is on an iPad2, I'm on a new iPad.
Both devices run the latest iOS, and we both have a cloud account.

When I create an iCal event on one of the iPads and invite the other, the invitation doesn't reach the other.

What do I miss?

did you figure this out? having a similar issue. can send invite from me.com but cannot receive an invite from me.com. the apple ID has always been the same me.com address

I was having a big problem with the email notifications going out... Apple support told me that the feature was being phased out initially, but I am pretty sure that the tech had invalid information.

Ultimately what helped in my situation was removing my gmail address as a secondary email on my AppleID. Works perfectly since I did that.
