Weird, it definitely does not have a blue tint for me - I guess that is why each person should calibrate their own screen.

I didn't mean to offend you, by the way :)

I thought that since we have the same panel, it would look the same on both our computers. You're certainly right about calibration, but I'm not a pro at it so I would prefer using someone else's profile. I'm just waiting for the perfect one. Thank you for being so generous and sharing yours.

I bought a Spyder 3 Express.

Here it is for the

MacBook Pro 2010
15,4" High Resolution Antiglare (matte)
Manufacturer: 0610
Model: 9CB7

Copy to ~/Library/ColorSync/Profiles and uncheck the box.

My panel specs match yours, yet when I use your colour profile, it looks horrible.

Its not a huge difference on my display from the factory profile but its not as saturated and its not as cold.

You're right. It's very similar to the default, which is really good, IMO.

I have used your colour profile, but it looks slightly colder than the default on my 15" MBP. I don't really see the need to switch to a calibrated colour profile unless you're a pro because it seems like Apple already calibrated a 15" MBP with the same LCD panel and provided a good colour profile.

Even if an MR member chooses to post their hardware calibrated profile for the same LCD panel that you have in your laptop, it will probably be equally good/bad as the Apple one, since another person's hardware cailbration won't apply to us perfectly anyway. Whether you choose Apple's or another MR member's colour profile will depend on individual panel differences, and difference in each user's preference.

MacBook Pro 15" High Res Anti-Glare
Model: 9CB7

Calibrated using Spyder2express and ColorEyes Display Pro 1.52r32
Gamma: 2.2; White point: D65, max luminescence; Black point: min luminescence.

Does anyone have the default Color LCD profile for the 9CBB (15" antiglare LG-Phillips). I think I deleted it, and now I want it back. I'm a noob, so any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Just reboot your Macbook Pro and it will become an option again under the displays tab.

Is the calibration going to improve the deep, dark blacks that seem to be an Apple selling point? I've got the cash metaphorically in my hand for a MBP 15" but it struck me in the shop how dark the screens are. I checked a photo in iPhoto and what appeared to be black areas turned out to be, after some photo adjustment, intricate green leaves. I tried the screen calibration functions in the store but that's not the best place to experiment. Can I improve this after purchase? Thanks, in advance.

Yes, i see significant improvement on shadow area where the original color profile tend to clip it as full black. I am using mbp 15" HR AG.

Such as on osX wallpaper >Black & White> Sea Mist.. You can see more shadow and texture on gaps between rocks after calibration.
