Do you usually eat icecream straight from the freezer out of a tub... or do you let it soften and put it in a bowl?

When at the Ben & Jerry's factory I bought a scoop... and then realised that I'd have been better off with their tub 'jacket' since it just doesn't taste the same in a bowl...

Bowl, definitely. The tub's too cold to hold, and surely the rest of the tub melts and then you put it back in the freezer and it goes all nasty and crystallised for next time?

miniConvert – sprinkles are great... :D

Instead of letting it soften first...you can usually (depending on the tub and the ice cream type) just cut a piece of the tub off and put it in the bowl. Then put the rest of the tub in a plastic bag.

I started doing this just so I wouldn't eat the whole tub in one sitting.

Depends on where I'm eating it, if I'm alone or not and how much is left. If there's only one serving left and I'm at home I eat out of the tub. The rest of the time I use a bowl (or get hassled by my girlfriend for not doing so... ;)).

Depends. Late night, alone, binge time....tub it is. Public gathering, fourth the portion, pinky raised nice 'n proper in order to navigate a small, nancy spoon in and out of a bowl.

I keep a supply of Blue Bunny or Hoodsie cups handy for my not-spoiled-at-all-why-do-you-ask dog. The birch paddle spoon thingies are hard to find, and I generally don't like to eat those cups unless I have the paddles.

I like to put ice cream for myself in a bowl, and microwave for just long enough that it's really soft but just before it gets melty.

Bowl, because once you get down to the bottom of the tub.. your hand get messy if your eatting out of it.. if you scoop it out, you can wash your sticky hands then eat :)

I eat it from a bowl because I fear eating too much of it if I don't get what I want and then put the rest away. I've recently actually measured what a serving is, and I already eat 2-3 servings at a time, so I have to watch it.

In a bowl, unless it's one of those small containers of Ben & Jerry's. Let's be honest...those things are never making it back to the fridge.:p

Kids get their ice cream in a bowl or on a cone. Wife and I eat out of the tub if it's one of the fancy pint tubs we buy just for adult consumption. We try to eat no more than half the pint in one night.

My guilty pleasure is to eat the Breyer's Neopolitan out of the tub. It's fantastic to slice a bit of chocolate, vanilla or strawberry and get either just one flavor, two or all three. I have complete control over the Neopolitan in the tub. It gets all confused in the bowl. And then the edges get all soft as you eat and you can enjoy the different texture by scraping the edges or the top. Mmmmmm.... ice cream.

Oh boy, eating out of the tub - whole tub in a sitting points to serious emotional problems.

Isn't lactose bad for dogs???

Link:
Some adult dogs and cats do not have sufficient amounts of the enzyme lactase, which breaks down the lactose in milk. This can result in diarrhea. Lactose-free milk products are available for pets.

We keep this on hand for our dogs. She loves. :)

Bowl...unless someone's left a little bit in the tub, then I'll eat out of the tub, saves dirtying a bowl ;)

My hound has no trouble digesting dairy products, so it's not an issue. The vets are consistently impressed with her health, weight, blood work and so on, so her diet works for her :)

(I tried giving her Frosty Paws once, she wouldn't touch it. I tried some and understand why: it's gross.)

Ah, mmkay, that's cool!

Our dog loves it. But I agree. It's some gross s**t.
