If I were to eat an entire tub in one sitting, I'd be eating 3 gallons of ice cream. So naturally, I do eat entire tubs in one sitting. :D
Good question, how many will?
I sense a disturbance in the Force... err, wrong movie.

It's not good for ice cream to sit out and melt (even just for a few minutes). It makes the ice cream hard and it looses its creaminess.

I pull the tub out of the freezer, scoop out what I want into a bowl, and pop it back in.

If you pop it back in, how will you ever eat it? ;)

Instead of letting it soften first...you can usually (depending on the tub and the ice cream type) just cut a piece of the tub off and put it in the bowl. Then put the rest of the tub in a plastic bag.

I started doing this just so I wouldn't eat the whole tub in one sitting.

Cut a piece of the tub off and put the rest in a bag? That sounds really difficult!

If I buy ice cream from the supermarket, it's only me who's eating it so I'll eat it straight from the tub little by little. Just like milk or yoghurt.

For me it depends on the ice cream.

If its something that comes smaller...like a Ben and Jerry's, then I will eat out of the carton...maybe a third or a half, and then put the rest in the freezer for later.

If it is a larger container like the Bryers ice cream I will scoop it into a bowl, then mash it up to get it really soft nd eat it that way.

What can I say I have weird habits. :D
