I apologize if this is being discussed elsewhere, but I haven't noticed it anywhere and I think it is particularly exciting for iPad users.... This article by Appleinsider notes that iChatAgent, along with IMCore.framework and IMAVCore.framework have been found in the new OS4 Beta. Basically, iChatAgent exists on OS X already and is what allows iChat to keep you online via the menu bar icon even when iChat.app is closed. The two frameworks have additional supporting code, including that for video chat and screen sharing. Video chat is probably irrelevant for current iPad owners, so let's ignore that for a minute. A real iChat IM client that can run in the background PLUS an Apple-supported screen sharing app would be awesome on an iPad, especially the latter. Of course there are already VNC client apps but I'd have to imagine that an official screen sharing app would maximize compatibility with OS X, which is what I really want. Even just the IM client would be great, too, since the new multitasking support doesn't actually allow for background IM clients beyond the current push notification method.
