Hi,

I keep on adding a buddy and this one in particular does not stay on my buddy list. He has an AIM address. I click the + button, add him and he appears in the Buddies column for about five seconds. His name flashes and then he disappears.

Any ideas? Thanks.

This happens to me too. Sorry I can't help, but am curious as to what is going on.

I've noticed it only happens on my mac. They stay added to my AIM app on my iPhone.

try these few things...
go into ur username/library/prefrences
then use the the search bar and type in "iChat" (without the quotes)
make sure ur searching in "preferences"...4 .plist files should show up and you have to delete them

make sure ichat is not on during this process

another thing is open ur adress book and see if the buddy is listed in there
if he/she is drag their icon into ur buddy list

if those dont work let me know,
theirs one final resort id rather not type up cuz im super tired :(

this is happening to me now too. What exactly is causing this?

I tried the first option you noted, but after i search for IChat in my username's preferences folder, what am I looking to delete?

Does anyone have other solutions or able to explain the above solution differently as this problem is still occurring.

Thanks,

That's what I had to do when iChat did that to me a few years ago. Good tip.

By the way, it hasn't that to me since.
