Ok, so I am having this issue ever since I moved into my new apartment. I hooked up my internet through Cox and bought a new Netgear router. The problem I am having is, every time I log onto iChat at my apartment, the program opens and closes like 10 times really fast. Then I get an error that says I have attempted to log onto iChat too many times and I must try again later. The weird thing is, my friend visited for Thanksgiving and he brought his MacBook Pro, his iChat worked fine. My girlfriend and I both have MacBook Pro's as well but we can not log onto iChat. I am beginning to think it is my router causing it but how is it my buddies did not have the same problem??? Can anyone help me out? Is this something that has happen to you? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks :D

I have had a similar problem. I moved to a new place and got Cox and could not send e-mails through Mail. I had to go into Mail preferences and change my Port setting to 993. It took some researching online to figure this out. Maybe this will point you in the right direction.

I'd say maybe try a different AIM server. I am using the alternate one that goes through ICQ. I was having issues with the regular login.oscar.aim.com one.

login.icq.com port 443 is what I am using. you can change it in the settings for your AIM account in iChat.

Good luck.

EDIT: Also, if you use several services in iChat, i.e. AIM & gTalk, you should get an iChat add-on called CHAX.
