Ichat error -8

i keep getting the -8 ichat error that i did not get a response but this has happened with my aim friends but this is the first time with a .mac friend what should i do? or do you have any hints?

im running osx leopard on my intel macbook pro

My God, Apple is still using numbered errors? I had hoped they abandoned them in OS X.

Could you provide us with a little more detail? What exactly is happening, and when?

well i get the "did not respond error and both me and him are using .mac this only happens with video and audio but text works fine
