I don't know what happened. iChat was working and then the next time I opened it, it never showed up on the desktop. It shows up on the menu bar but Preferences is greyed out. Under accounts it says there are no accounts configured even though I previously had 5 accounts set up. Im not sure what to do. Id be okay with blowing all the settings away and setting it back up if that got it to work again.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Do you have TM backups?

I would try to reset the ~/Library/Application Support/ folder (if there is one, I don't use iChat) to an older version and see if that fixes the problem.

This MBP is brand new yesterday. I haven't done my first TM backup yet...

The only thing listed in that directory is under Apple/iChat icons.

Thanks anyway. Ill keep plugging away.

I shut down the system to transport from work and now iChat is working fine. I had tried restarting it while it was acting up with out without solution. Bizarre.
