iChat not opening

Hi everyone.

I've had my imac for a few weeks now and am curious about ichat. the problem is, it won't open. i can right-click it on my dock and it will allow me to change status, not that it matters. that's about all i can do with it.

any help?

do you have an AIM or .Mac account? have you tried adding making an account in iChat? sounds like it opens fine but hasnt been setup yet.
