Hey everyone;

In iChat, for every person in my list, their icon is the generic AIM guy (

), and they tell me that is not their icon. I don't know why iChat is doing this, but it's really irritating!!! Please help ASAP!!!! Thanks so much!!

Same problem

I have been having the same problem for quite awhile now. I have not been able to figure out the cause. If I create a new system user account and open ichat there and login the buddy icons work. I have tried replacing/deleating preference files and just about every file with the word "ichat" in it to no avail. If anyone has any information on this it would be greatly appreciated.

This probably isn't the problem, but just to rule it out.

Select one of the "running man" chat buddies, right click (or control-click) and select get info. Make sure there is not a check in the "Always use this picture" box next to the running man.

On the other hand, if you want, you can drag a picture of your buddy into the square, adjust it a little and use that as his/her avatar. At minimum, you won't have hundreds of running men buddies.

yeah, its not checked for anyone, but I did think of doing that haha...just too much effort to make a picture for everyone in my list.
