ichat Video, audio cutting out under Snow Leopard?

Can anyone help! Since installing SL on both my MBP and my Dad’s iMac, audio keeps cutting out when we initiate a Video chat in iChat. I have been to see a genius at the apple store but they couldn’t find a solution. I have searched apple discussion forums but only a handful of other people have experienced this which I find strange. I am also using a Time Capsule and my Dad is using a Netgear router?
