iChat video chat not working

Every time that I try to have a video chat with someone through iChat, it never works... the other people have Macs as well, but for some reason I always get the same message, that there was an error in connecting to their computer or something like that.... I end up using Skype, but I'm curious as to why my video chat never works... and I do have it enabled

did you try setting up the video chat with everyone disabling their firewall?

yea, i think its a problem on my side because they can do video chats no problem, and i've disabled my firewall as well
