iChat won't login to .Mac account

My iChat will not login to .Mac. It repeatedly connects and disconnects for about 5 seconds before an error comes up telling me that I have tried to log in to many times and to try again later. The one time that I was able to log it, my buddy list did not work.

AIM works fine, so it is a .Mac problem. I am sure the password is correct. Any ideas?
