iCloud and app data

I'm doing research for a school article and when Apple says that iCloud back's up "app data", does that mean it would back up my saved games so that if I'm on level 15 on Angry Birds on my iPod Touch, would I also be on level 15 on my iPad?

no, it's backup for the same device not a sync between devices
