iCloud and Apps

Do my iPhone apps automatically get backed up to iCloud or is that a setting I have to turn on? I dont see it as an option in the iCloud settings.
 
Thanks, i was backing up my apps through iTunes before not knowing that iCloud was also backing them up. Ive turned it off in iTunes now.
