I've been using iCloud to sync photos between my iPhone and iPad. Works great. I have a Mac with about 30gig of photos. I added the additional cloud storage and included my photos app collection on my Mac to the cloud. It looks like they are becoming available on my iPad and iPhone. Are they downloading and going to fill up my devices? Or is this like iTunes and cloud storage and only stream to the portable devices?

You can choose in Settings > iCloud > Photos, and then choose to optimise storage or download and keep originals.
