Hi,

Am in my mid 80's now, so please bear with me a bit.

Have an older iPhone 6S, and will be purchasing a new iPhone in Sept., when I guess the new ones will be out.

A previous post described, a bi, on how to transfer everything in an old phone to the new
one via iCloud.

Have always had problems utilizing iCloud.

Also, I have a msg. on the phone that my iCloud storage is full.
I will certainly not be purchasing any additional storage, as
I don't use iCloud for anything. Have found it to be a big-pain, but that's likely me and my old(er) age now, possibly.

Questions:

How do I eliminate Everything presently in my iCloud to free up the max. possible future storage (see next) ?

How do I make sure it will not start backing up, again, automatically ?

And although it's not Sept. yet for transferring All my data and photos and everything
else from my present phone to the new one, might someone please go thru
the steps I would have to go thru to do this.

Or, is that suggestion about doing it by placing the 2 phones side by side a better and easier way ?
If so, what would be the steps for this, please ?

This is a great Forum and folks.
Have learned so much from you all.

Much thanks, really appreciate the help,
Bob

Not sure what version of IOS you are using thus not sure if available on yours. But under settings, your name(Apple ID) there is an iCloud section. You could go into that section and turn off each item that has iCloud on (green switch). I think that will tell you deleting, etc and not use iCloud for that type of thing in the future. You might want to keep items such as keychain on to keep some of your settings.
Don't know where you live relative to Apple store, etc. but I'd make an appointment to buy, pick up your new phone and get them to help you setup and move stuff. I'm sure other vendors will do the same - ask and only go to a place that will help.
